May your days be merry and bright!

Happy Holidays from the CKISS team

During this holiday season, our thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made our work possible. On behalf of the Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society team, thank you and we look forward to another wonderful year in 2019! Happy holidays and all the best in the New Year to our community, members, partners and funders.
We would like to thank our many supporters who value the importance of invasive species prevention and management. With your backing we were able to have many successes in our aquatics, operations and education programs during the 2018 field season. From all of us here at CKISS we want to extend gratitude to our 2018 sponsors who allow us to keep our lakes pristine, forests lush, mountains healthy and economies thriving through education and management of invasive species in an effective way.  We have put together a photo album to highlight some of the work that was accomplished in 2018 due to the support of our funders.

An early Christmas present for the Central and West Kootenay Region.
Our lakes are invasive mussel free……for now!

The results are in! All of our samples came back negative for the presence of zebra quagga mussels. This is good news considering mussels cannot be eradicated once established. Invasive mussels are at our doorstep! Now is the time to take action to #ProtectOurWaters, there is no turning back the clock on a zebra and quagga mussel invasion. #CleanDrainDry
