Barbara LaWall Appoints Keith St. John as New Chief of Detectives for Pima County Attorney's Office

Tucson, Arizona Barbara LaWall, Pima County Attorney, is pleased to announce that Keith St. John has been appointed to serve as the new Chief of Detectives in the Pima County Attorney's Office. Keith has 38 years of law enforcement experience.  His career began with the Pima County Sheriff's Department in 1977 and over time became one of the Sheriff's most outstanding homicide detectives.

Keith joined the Pima County Attorney's Office in 2001.  One of the cases Keith handled for many years, first at the Sheriff's Department, and then later at the Pima County Attorney's Office, was the cold case investigation of the murder of Gary Triano.  Keith's excellent detective work was instrumental to the development of sufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Pamela Phillips hired a hit man to kill Triano, her ex-husband, to collect life insurance money enabling her to maintain her luxury lifestyle. Ms. Phillips is now serving a life sentence in the Department of Corrections.
Over the past 14 years, in the Pima County Attorney's Office, Keith has served as Detective, Lead Detective, and Acting Chief of Detectives.  Keith has always distinguished himself as professional, knowledgeable, dedicated, hard-working, trustworthy, and a leader who exercises excellent judgment.

LaWall said:  "Keith has proven to be a valuable member of the County Attorney's management team, and I am pleased and proud to have him continue to serve as a part of that team as Chief of Detectives for the Pima County Attorney's Office."
