2012...where do we begin...?

We would like to start with the exciting realization that you helped raised almost $93,000 this year!!!  Not too shabby for the first full fiscal year of an organization that is run entirely on a volunteer basis with our blood, sweat and tears reimbursed by smiles and joy from our Swazi kiddos!  Our low administrative budget means your donations are going to the orphaned children as our mission states. And we THANK YOU!

Due to the generosity of SO many people, companies, and organizations, 2012 was a very busy year for GHFP! In 2012 we...
  • Provided opportunity for play, team building & fun physical activity with sporting equipment, toys & outdoor games to schools and an HIV orphanage
  • Offered eLangeni Primary School access to technology by installing a computer lab equipped with Jump Start educational gaming software
  • Installed solar lighting in child-headed households to support evening studying and deter predators
  • Supported GHFP orphan education students with school fees, supplies & uniforms
  • Planted fruit bearing trees in eLangeni, Swaziland at child-headed homes as well as the Primary and Secondary schools
  • Implemented the FOODOM feeding program, providing 1259 students will nutritious school lunches in addition to emergency food packs for child-headed households
  • Issued cell phones to child-headed households for emergency calls and to stay connected to our students, any issues they made need help with and school progress check-ins
These orphaned and vulnerable children represent the future of their nation but are also the largest "at-risk" population.  If HIV/AIDS is to be eradicated, they are the key to any sustainable solution.  Give Hope, Fight Poverty realizes that educating, nurturing, and empowering them will produce a generation of change-agents for a brighter tomorrow.

"It always seems impossible until it is done." - Nelson Mandela.
Thank you for making all of our 2012 accomplishments possible! We couldn't have done it without you.
