New Board Member!

Nicole Herlevic brings an eclectic background to the role of GHFP Treasurer.  She received her B.S. in Business from Indiana University and has since acquired <11 years of professional accounting experience.  Nicole started her career with a boutique CPA firm, where most of her time was devoted to auditing elementary school districts.  She then ventured into the corporate accounting sector and eventually settled into a senior role in the finance department of a corporation.  She served 2 years as Treasurer on her condominium’s HOA Board, which, as a member of its first elected Board, allowed her to gain valuable experience helping an organization expand in its early stages. Nicole looks forward to contributing her financial skill set to the Board and her unwavering enthusiasm to the GHFP mission. (Pictured above on the right with our GHFP President Chandre)

Orphan Education Sponsorship!

In Swaziland, education is not free.

In fact, it is about $1 per day to go to school and an additional $100 for school uniforms, supplies, and shoes ($450 total).  In 2007 we met a group of orphaned children who were being kicked out of school due to the lack of funding and pledged to raise money for their school fees.  Today, you can make a contribution to keep them in school - no amount is too small! Because education is proven to be the most successful way out of poverty (Half the Sky, Nicholas Kristof 2009), these children need schooling to ensure a brighter future.
