Give Hope, Fight Poverty

Primary School

We are pleased to announce that due to generous donations recently made, GHFP will be funding the construction of a Primary School in Malindza, Swaziland.  It started with a donation made in GHFP co-founder Annie's grandmother's name and another amazing supporter that offered matching dollars. We now have enough funds to break ground this summer and start construction. However, much more is needed to complete the 7 one-room classroom buildings (grades 1-7).

GHFP is excited to be able to offer access to education to students living in the rural impoverish community of Malindza.  We are also excited to have hired a local builder who grew up as an orphan himself and has agreed to complete the project at a reduced price as his way to give back to the current orphaned children in his community.

Children's Library

The eLangeni community has requested a children's library at their primary school.  They have a room ready for us to come this summer and transform the empty space into a painted and colorful library! We are looking forward to building bookshelves, filling the library with books for the children and
creating cozy areas to read.  Our service-learning teams will be implementing a reading program and partnering with Swazi teachers to ignite & fuel the students' love of books and reading.

We need help acquiring books to fill the shelves!  Consider hosting a children's book drive, asking family, friends, churches and schools to collect new or gently used children's books - all books will be donated to the eLangeni Children's Library in Swaziland, Africa.

Contact Annie for more information or to arrange a book pick-up -
Education is the best way out of poverty and the number one way to reduce HIV transmission and give them the tools to help themselves.
