Taste your way around the Grampians this weekend and celebrate our award-winning Shiraz at the 'Seriously Shiraz' Wine Festival.

With a full program of events, stunning venues, some of the best wines in Australia - and only two hours from Melbourne and one hour from Ballarat - this is the perfect weekend to celebrate Father’s Day!

It is also an amazing time to experience our wildflowers and with Spring just around the corner, we are already experiencing amazing bursts of bright flowers in the Grampians National Park, once described as the 'garden of Victoria', the region is home to more than one third of Victoria's flora.

Huge welcome to Serena Eldridge as our new Business Manager for Grampians Tourism. Serena is an accomplished, respected and innovative leader in the Tourism and Media Marketing sector and brings with her a wealth of tourism experience and enthusiasm.

Next month I'll be heading over to UK & Europe attending the Visit Victoria 10 day roadshow promoting Victoria and our partnership in the Great Southern Touring Route (GSTR). UK & European visitors represents 50% of all international visitor nights in the Grampians, making them the largest international economic contributors to our region.

Next Friday Grampians Tourism presents two “Digital First” workshops, as part of the 2019 Digital Innovation Festival including Social Media Marketing – and a special session for the Savvy Digital Marketer – presented by the amazing Despina Karatzias from Institute of Excellence at the beautiful Pomonal Estate, Pomonal.

Pour a Grampians Shiraz, check out some of the amazing wine events and step into the 'Grampians garden' this weekend!

ARADALE RE-OPENS FOR PUBLIC TOURS

In great news for the region tours at Aradale Asylum have re-commenced.
Eerie Tours Manager, Nathaniel Buchanan, contacted Grampians Tourism to pass on the fantastic news last week.
Local media reports suggest that there will be some additional protocols implemented as part of the reopening, however, the buildings continue to present a very low risk to casual visitors, including adults and children attending tours as guests.

MEET JARRED PARSONS - ACTING TOURISM PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

Jarred Parsons, Acting Tourism Partnerships Manager, has recently celebrated 20-years of employment with Parks Victoria.

Jarred has held a range of communications and marketing roles during his time at Parks working on projects including the Black Saturday Fires in 2009 and 15 annual Boat Shows. Here he shares what he loves about working with us and what inspires him. Congratulations on an incredible milestone!

What do you love about working at Parks Victoria?

The incredible passion, knowledge and experience of our people and our incredible network of parks and waterways. It's a dream combination.

What inspires you as a leader?

Hearing other people's stories really inspires me. There's so much you can learn from other people.

What's the best piece of advice you have been given?

"If you are not growing, you're groaning." Whether it's career, family or life in general, we never really arrive at a destination. It's all a big journey so we have to continue learning and growing to move forward.

How does a great culture help you at work?

Positive culture helps an ordinary performing team become an extraordinary performing team.

If you were coaching a new team, what would you do first?
I recently explored the positive leadership framework with my team which focuses on having positive climate, communication, relationships and meaning. We created an office gratitude tree to help build  our positive climate. Appreciation goes a long way.
