November in the Grampians sees the arrival of the Gariwerd season of Ballambar
which represents butterflies, warm weather and wetland plants. We have a wonderful and rich Aboriginal story to share in the Grampians and it was enriching to be a part of the Australian Indigenous Tourism Conference
earlier this month and discuss the opportunities for us to celebrate our indigenous culture from a tourism perspective. The conference was an excellent opportunity to connect with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal tourism operators and great to spend time with Jamie Lowe, CEO of Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation.
There's been more fantastic news for the region with the latest performance data from Tourism Research Australia's Visitor Survey measuring the positive growth we have all noticed anecdotally, you can read all the data in detail below. Grampians region travel data year ending June 2018

It was wonderful to be a sponsor of the 2018 Western Victorian Wine Challenge
this year in Ararat and congratulate local winners and celebrate with the Pyrenees winemakers for winning back the Regional Shield; the competition this year was fierce but the real winner is the Western Victorian WINE industry!
I'd like to welcome Rhonda McNeil, the new Parks Victoria Area Chief Ranger in the Grampians. Rhonda comes to the role with incredibly valuable experience and we look forward to working closely together.
This week, I'm looking forward to presenting a tourism update at the Ararat Rural City Council Business Breakfast Forum in and excited to attend the RACV Tourism Awards Gala Ceremony
