Important Information from Parent Meeting

Sunday's Parent Meeting, kicking off the Spring/Summer rowing season, was well-attended. Thanks to all the parents who attended and signed up for the many volunteer opportunities presented! The handout that was provided contains a wealth of helpful information, from itineraries to coaches' contact information. You may access it by clicking here, or on the club website.

For 'Moms' of Junior Rowers:

It is not too late to join the WeCanRow Winter Workouts!
Cost: $50
Where: Brittingham Boathouse
When: Wednesdays - 6:15-7:45pm & Saturdays - 9:30-11:00am  (includes erg rowing machine, strength, and flexibility training)

Workouts run through April 27. This is your chance to learn more about rowing and get a great workout with the women from WCR! Contact for more information.

Registration Reminder

Fees for the Spring/Summer season are due on March 11. Please click here to link to the registration page of our website. Fees  are $1610.00 if paying by check, $1650.00 if paid by credit card or PayPal. Application for scholarships or payment plans can be accessed here and are due by March 4.

Clothing Available

CRRC clothing items will be available for sale at the Erg-A-Thon on March 2. Please bring cash or check and pick up some Camp Randall swag!

Mark Your Calendars

In addition to regattas, there are many important upcoming dates over the next few months. Please make note of the following Spring season events.

  • March 2: Ergathon 4:30-6:30 PM (Boathouse)
  • March 11: Spring fees due
  • March 14: Practice times change. 
  • March 18: Buses leave for Tennessee. Rowers will miss school.
  • March 26: Rowers return from Tennessee.
  • May 20: Rowers leave Madison for Midwest Regionals. Rowers will miss school.
  • May 22: Rowers return from Cincinnati.
  • June 3: CRRC Banquet and Dance

Spring Regatta Schedule 

  • March 26: St Louis, St Louis, MO
  • April 24: Monona Invite, Madison, WI
  • May 7: Greater Chicago Jr Regatta, Crystal Lake, IL  (No Buses)
  • May 20-22: Midwest Regionals, Cincinnati, OH  (Fri 5/20 - Leave Madison; Sat & Sun 5/21-22 - Races)
  • June 10-12: Junior Nationals, West Windsor, NJ   Qualifying Varsity boats only


Volunteer Opportunities

Parent Pick-Up: We need parents to stay after practice until the last rower is picked up. Volunteer will stay with rower(s) and have cell phone available. Click here to learn more and to sign up.
Monona Invite: Our home regatta takes place on Sunday, April 24. We need all hands on deck to make this event a big success! Click here to sign up!

Registration Now Open for Spring/Summer Season

Registration for the Spring rowing season is now open. Please click here to link to the registration page of our website. Fees for the spring season are $1610.00 if paying by check and $1650.00 if paying by credit card or PayPal and are due on March 11. Application for scholarships or payment plans can be accessed here. The deadline for applications for financial aid is March 4. 

CRRC Game Night at Union South Saturday, February 27

Parents, rowers, and friends are invited to gather at The Sett at Union South from 4-6 pm on Saturday, February 27th. The $8 fee includes bowling, shoe rental, pool, video games, board games, and pizza! Fees will be collected upon arrival. Please sign up here through Sign-Up Genius. See you at the Sett!

Erg-A-Thon Details

The CRRC Junior Rowing program's big fundraiser -- the Erg-a-Thon -- is just around the corner on Wednesday, March 2, 4:30 - 6:30pm. A key component of our Erg-a-Thon is our online fundraising community through Piggybackr. Each rower should set up their own profile so that they can accept online donations from friends, family, and supporters. And, of course, if you have any questions or concerns or need assistance accessing Piggybackr please feel free to get in touch with either Barb Beckett or Mark Lilleleht

Monona Invite Volunteers Needed

CRRC will be hosting the Milwaukee Rowing Club, New Trier High School, Twin Cities Youth Rowing, and St Louis Rowing Club on Sunday, April 24 at the Brittingham Boathouse. This is our club’s major event and your assistance is needed. There are opportunities for all skill sets, from parking to food service to potty patrol. We will work with to make sure you know what is expected of  you and there will be plenty of veteran parents available to support all volunteers. The sooner we fill these spots, the better off we will be. All  spots must be filled by April 1. There are shifts available for both Saturday and Sunday. Practice Times Change March 14

Beginning on Monday, March 14, daily practice will run until 6:30 PM. Saturday morning practices will begin after Spring Break on April 2, 7-9 AM.

It's a great time to talk with your friends about joining our club. Rowers are welcome to join any time, but now, as we head into spring racing season and our trip to Tennessee, is a great time for novice rowers to start.

 The WCR Crew will be providing snacks for juniors rowers at the 2016 CRRC Ergathon on Wednesday, March 2. Please come to the boathouse with your WE CAN REFUEL goodies and cheer on our juniors!

WCR Winter Workouts continue at Brittingham Boathouse!
What: Winter indoor workouts (includes erg rowing machine, strength, and flexibility training)
When: Saturdays  9:30-11:00 am
            Wednesdays  6:15-7:45 pm

Dates: January 9 - April 27 (includes on-the-water experience) Feel free to join in at anytime.
Where: Brittingham Boathouse

Who: WeCanRow is a rowing program designed for women who have or had cancer. Winter workouts are open to friends and family of survivors as well.
Cost: No charge for rowers who registered for the 2015 rowing season. $50 fee for all other participants. Cash or check made payable to CRRC. Fees cannot be prorated.

Attendance at Mandatory Safety Meeting is required for all crew members.  This spring’s meeting will be Saturday, March 26th, 9:30-11am. We will begin with a brisk walk from Bittingham Boathouse to 306 West Main. Meeting will be held at 306 West Main in the community room.
