Frontières@Fantasia 2015
Concludes with Most Successful Edition to Date

Montreal, 28 July 2015 – After a highly successful sixth edition, the Frontières International Co-Production Market concluded on Sunday, July 26, after four days of project pitching, meetings, screenings, and networking sessions with industry leaders from around the world. Over 375 international film industry professionals converged at the Fantasia International Film Festival for this increasingly significant industry event specializing in genre film co-production, financing, and sales.
Notable international industry representatives at Fantasia this year included Amazon Studios, Blumhouse Productions, CAA, Dimension Films, ICM Partners, Magnolia Pictures, Oscilloscope Laboratories, Paradigm Talent Agency, WME, Mongrel International & Mongrel Media, Entertainment One / Les Films Séville, and the Nikkatsu Corporation.
Frontières@Fantasia 2015 proved to be the market’s most successful edition to date, with a record number of industry professionals in attendance. Midway through the weekend Raven Banner picked up the worldwide rights to Frontières project EL GIGANTE, from the British Columbia-based LuchaGore Productions.
And after having its world premiere at Fantasia, Canadian distributions rights to the South-African-American action-thriller MOMENTUM were picked up by Starz Media. The film, which marks Stephen S. Campanelli's directorial debut, stars Olga Kurylenko (QUANTUM OF SOLACE), James Purefoy (THE FOLLOWING), and Morgan Freeman.
“We are beyond thrilled with the results coming out of this year’s edition, which have far exceeded expectations and indicate an increasingly energetic and motivated market place for genre film,” says Market and Industry Director Lindsay Peters. “Industry leaders are arriving at Fantasia ready to do business.”
Frontières@Fantasia featured 20 projects from across North America, Europe and beyond, from a diverse cross-section of filmmakers, including more female-driven projects in development.
The project line-up included works from director John McNaughton (HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, WILD THINGS), RKSS Films (TURBO KID), producer Michael Roiff (WAITRESS, IN YOUR EYES), producer Rob Cotterill (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN), and producers Larry Fessenden and Peter Phok (THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, STAKE LAND, THE INNKEEPERS).

Featured events at this year’s edition included a Work-in-Progress presentation, which featured 4 films in post-production, and the SODEC Power Hour networking sessions, where producers had the opportunity to meet with industry leaders in a round table environment.
