Living in the shadow of Mount Rainier, between two mountain ranges, and bordered by water, we remember we belong to the earth. We are part of  God’s creation and dependent on it. What does it mean to live faithfully in the shadow of this mountain and as people of this place? How do we as descendants of a faith of a people who knew they belong to the land think about our own location as we wait for the coming of God amidst a creation in need of care? Join us beginning November 27th for Advent worship!
Derona Burkholder, Compassion, Justice & Peace Elder
How do we as descendants of a faith, of a people who knew they belong to the land, think about our own location as we wait for the coming of God amidst a creation in need of care?  As this was listed in a previous newsletter in preparation of Advent, I cannot help but think about the Christmas giving tree. Two families at Honey Dew Elementary have been identified, by Erika Parmelee, as families in need of care. The purpose of the giving tree is to not save anyone, but to provide just a small moment where there isn’t stress about whether there will be a season of giving for families who don’t have extra.

If you are able, please consider taking a tag off the tree in the entryway. We are supporting two families this Christmas season.  One family of 3 kids (2, 5 & 8) are asking for clothes, Barbies, small toys, and grocery/gas cards. The second family of 3 kids (6, 7 & 9) are asking for clothes, shoes, Pokémon cards, Barbies, gas cards and towels. Once you buy the gift, wrap it, attach the tag to the gift and place it under the tree. Please have all gifts under the tree by Sunday, December 11th. Pattie Holt has graciously offered to help members by buying a gift if you provide ‘Pattie the Elf’ with money to purchase the gift.

If you have any questions, please contact Derona Burkholder.
St. Andrew deacons have provided the beautiful poinsettia plants to enhance our décor during Advent.  If you would like to designate a plant in honor or memory of someone, please complete the designation form made available in the worship aid and put it in the offering plate along with your $15 donation to the Deacons’ Fund. Alternately you can send an email or note to us in the office indicating in whose memory or honor you would like to designate the gift.
Join us Sunday after worship for Aftertalk. These gatherings are designed to offer safe conversational space to help us together make the link from worship to the world. Join us on Sunday!
All are invited to join us for our annual event on Thursday, December 1 at 11:30 AM.  Jan Tessin-Thuline has generously offered to provide delicious baked ham and her signature macaroni and cheese!  Please bring a salad, dessert, side-dish, or snack to share as we welcome this Advent season.
Thanks to all who came out to set-up and tear-down, to create, to welcome, to shop and eat and generally support this year's Holiday Bazaar! We raised over $1800 to continue our support of local ministries, youth and schools!
