THANKFUL FOR YOU!
Derona Burkholder, Compassion, Justice & Peace Elder

On behalf of the CJP team, I can't thank you all enough for the generous donations that were made.  Our congregation may be smaller in size, but we have the biggest heart.  We raised $1, 400.00 to help fund thirty-five $40 Safeway food gift cards for families who may not have had a Thanksgiving meal without the gift card.

Also, thank you to Shelia and Laurie for all their work leading and organizing this mission event.  Please know that anyone is welcome to join CJP as we do some rewarding work by helping others in need.
LOOKING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE?

Toni Ball, ARISE Advisor, contacted CJP to see if we could help support Kennydale with dinner for the men. As a team, we decided that it is important to support our neighboring churches.  We have signed up for Sunday, December 18th. We are looking for you to sign-up to donate a part of the meal by preparing it and bringing it in. We are also looking for a few to attend Kennydale to help serve and clean-up the dinner. This is your chance to help 25 men from ARISE by providing them with a warm meal during the Christmas season.  Please contact Derona, Laurie or Shelia for more information.

DEACON POINSETTIAS
St. Andrew deacons have provided the beautiful poinsettia plants to enhance our décor during Advent.  If you would like to designate a plant in honor or memory of someone, please complete the designation form made available in the worship aid and put it in the offering plate along with your $15 donation to the Deacons’ Fund. Alternately you can send an email or note to us in the office indicating in whose memory or honor you would like to designate the gift.

FIRST SUNDAY WITH OUR KIDS
It's the first Sunday of the month so there will be the opportunity this week for our little ones to gather in the children's library with Maggie during the readings and the sermon. Together they will engage in some age appropriate activities that will facilitate a conversation about the text for the day, or some other part of worship, or whatever is on their minds. The group will come back to the sanctuary after the sermon so that we can have communion together.

The Northwest Chamber Chorus under the direction of Mark Kloepper, brings beauty and peace in their annual Christmas concert that includes a traditional carol sing-along (do you recognize that guy in the upper right corner?). Click here for tickets for December 4th, 3:00pm or here for tickets for December 10, 7:30pm.

“This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.” Leonard Bernstein’s poignant words in response to the assassination of John F. Kennedy echo defiantly today. As we approach Christmas, a season of love, empathy and peace, we draw inspiration from Bernstein’s pledge. We believe that the passion and power of our music can bring forth hope and faith, and that the fear and anger in our world can be overcome by a true Season of Peace.

AFTERTALK
Join us Sunday after worship for Aftertalk. These gatherings are designed to offer safe conversational space to help us together make the link from worship to the world. Join us on Sunday!
THANK YOU FROM ST. ANDY'S GALS

Thanks again to everyone who contributed to the success of our Holiday Bazaar--  helpers, crafters, shoppers, cooks, and guests. A special thanks to those who helped us set up before and clean up afterwards. The soup seems to gets better every year and entices more and more people to come for lunch. The centerpieces of food were donated to Renton Salvation Army Food Bank.

Winners of the raffle items were:

  • Framed cross-stitch by Barbara Glasscock –
    Bob Seel
  • Watercolor by Joyce Walker – Jan Dittmar
  • Rosemaling painting by Karen Mullen – Lezle Resor
  • Mink bear by Penny Winter – Jan Tessin-Thuline
  • Lego Advent Set – Teresa Platin
  • Little Orphan Annie -- Jon Miller

Proceeds from the bazaar will benefit several programs for youth, schools, and women. It looks like the net profit is near $2100.

Thanks to Everyone
