Thank you for your willingness to pray for us as we continue to prepare for ministry in Japan! We're settling back into things after spending a lot of time on the road in recent months. The past two weeks have been encouraging as we've seen a steady stream of brand-new names showing up on our list of monthly, financial partners. We've also been hearing from some of the churches that we've made contact with over the past few months (or longer).
There's been a lot of interest from friends and family who live close by (in Lexington and Asheboro) regarding our offer to present our calling to small groups in the area. Our second presentation is now scheduled for 11/15 in our home - and we're working on the 2nd and 3rd! Please pray that God would use these times to (1) solidify our relationships with our current partners [prayer & financial] and (2) that He'll stir up new families to be a part of this growing team focused on planting a network of new churches in Nagoya.
A special request --> Three different friends who know us well have gently suggested that we "work less" and "pray more." We constantly forget that even developing this support team is SPIRITUAL WORK and "unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." Would you please reflect on the following verses and pray for us as the Holy Spirit directs you this week?
"Unless the LORD builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep."
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel - from the first day, until now. We couldn't do this without your prayers!
