Art from my Perspective

A WCAGA Member Exhibit at GA Perimeter College in Clarkston GA

Here’s an update on our first exhibit for 2016. We have 30 artists who have submitted work and as always happens, I’m surprised to find a serendipitous theme seems to emerge. 30 artists who haven’t talked  or collaborated and yet a color theme seems to have occurred.

One of the best parts of being exhibit chair over the years has been seeing not only new member’s work but following the changes that artists who have been members for years keep creating. Don Dougan has once again created a visually exciting image for our invite. I hope to see you at the Opening Reception March 31 from 6 to 8pm.

Interview with Isabelle Gautier

1. Who are you and what do you do, and what is your background?

I was born and grew up in Normandy, France near the D-Day beaches. I moved to the States in 1999 and have been living in the Atlanta metro area since then. I have always been interested in color and design, attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, but am mostly a self-taught artist and painter.

2. What's integral to your art and or art career?

Right now painting provides the best support I need to create: the canvas. But as you know art is everywhere in life:  food, music, architecture, clothes … and even in the way we see things. I love everything about creating with my hands, working with large scale paintings, ceramics and woodwork….

Annual dues run from January 1st to December 31st each year. If you joined October to December of 2015 your dues are applied to 2016. National dues are included.
