November 2015
The Crazy Woman
I shall not sing a May song.
A May song should be gay.
I'll wait until November
And sing a song of gray.
I'll wait until November

That is the time for me.
I'll go out in the frosty dark
And sing most terribly.

And all the little people
Will stare at me and say,
That is the Crazy Woman
Who would not sing in May.

Interview with Anita Stewart
1. Who are you and what do you do, and what is your background?

I am an international artist and art teacher. I graduated from the University of Memphis in the ancient year of 1977 with a BFA. As I taught,I got   elementary ,junior high and high school art  programs off the ground for both public and private schools. This encouraged me to start my own art school. Continue

Leisa Rich has selected several international, award-winning artists for an exhibition that showcases art informed by a variety of hidden disabilities the participating artists face.  Kathy Meliopoulos

Many people live with a disability that impacts their everyday lives. A “hidden” or “invisible” disability is defined as a serious, on-going, medical or mental health challenge that impedes a completely normal existence but does not usually “show” on the outside. Rich’s own deafness -- the most challenging of her many medical issues and something she pretended didn’t exist for most of her life -- began insinuating itself into her creative art practice a few years ago.

Calls For Art

1. What's Right, What's Left: Democracy in America.
In the upcoming election year, what does democracy mean in the United States? It's time for artists to get on their soapboxes – whether it is a conceptual soapbox (Warhol) or direct Statement Art (Jenny Holtzer) and tell us what you think about democracy in America. For entree procedures click HERE.

2. Trending: Art Now!
TRENDING seeks works that are driving the direction of contemporary art. Show us your visually compelling and conceptually exciting work that signal the direction of where art is headed. WCA seeks art in all media that are leading edge and have the potential to go viral. Show us your most interesting work!
This show is non-themed. The juror, Elizabeth K. Garvey, will select the strongest works based on her experience as a Chelsea (NY) gallerist and collector of contemporary art. “Trending…” seeks to promote innovative established artists and nurture promising talent from the next generation of women artists.
