“I want to be a better version of myself”, “I want to do better at meeting friends”,
“I really only stay at my house in the summer”...these are just a few of the comments we heard from our prospective Kismet students in our recent interview process.
The light, hope and need in their communication is both extremely heartening and disheartening at the same time.
Every student we meet yearns for opportunity, dreams of moments of inspiration, and desperately wants peer relationships and social acceptance. It resonates so loudly even in the whisper of a disempowered child or glowing smile of another. Yet, their worlds present few scenarios where they can embrace and grow from a unique experience.
We have just finished the student interviews for the 2022 summer program. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet these students and to be in the position to offer many of them a Kismet scholarship for the next four years. This process has been one of the most emotional and amazing experiences in all my career. I can’t even begin to imagine what the summer will bring as the students gather for their climbing weeks.
Your support makes this possible. Your support opens the door for these students to ignite their spark for life, empower their voice and find a platform where they can appreciate and explore a wonderful version of themselves.
Please support our 2022 summer program by making a gift to our spring appeal as we strive to reach our $75,000 goal.
Sincerely Grateful,
