Friends of HM157, we stand at the head of summer & its promise -

swelter days beget warm evenings - the Los Angeles of June, July & August is full of music, laughter & meals shared outside with lovers & friends, eaten casually with happy hands.

Our recent solstice was harbinger of good & exciting news.

HM157 may now certifiably celebrate the government approval of its 501(c)(3) status. We are grateful for our contributors & all contributions - were they financial, emotional or superstitious - to secure our non-profit legitimacy.

Our 501(c)(3) title formally provides a mutually beneficial model of patronage. When a patron donates cash or goods (think: beer, wine, food) HM157 can now provide receipts most-legal to the donor for income tax deduction.

The math is simple. Monetary donations to the HM157 provide vital sustenance to our community endeavor. We are a proud, mom & pop creative which guarantees pay to its performers & staff. Each dollar beyond the evening's base expenses goes to maintenance, repair & improvement of the historical monument we all so cherish & enjoy.

Please note: local breweries, beer / spirits distributors or restauranteurs - if you would like to support the Los Angeles' creative arts' scene, please consider sponsoring an event at HM157. Our audience is sharp, intelligent, curious, wildly diverse, ever-growing, socially protean & dedicated. Simply contact Charon or Tricia to discuss the opportunity.
&&&&& so, in wild celebration of our 501(c)(3) & the goal met --- tomorrow night the canary yellow house presents a night of bacchanal rapture --- Honey Child's Debutante Bash

Honey Child is a ladies' choir of gorgeous souls accompanied by a small ensemble of instruments & curated by god herself. The new project of Claire McKeown (infamously of Dirt Bird) affirms that it 'make(s) sacred music of the secular.' The night promises to serve proper trailhead for your summer of fruitful exploration. Click the photo below for a honey video teaser.

Trade School LA is currently accepting class proposals for its second semester in September.
