Parsha of the Week:
Bereshit: Genesis 1:1-6:8

Judaism of the Week: Shemeni Azterat and Simchat Torah!

The final two days of Sukkot are upon us! These are both holidays in their own right, but attached to the longer festival by the rabbis.

Shemeni Azterat, literally means a solemn gathering on the eighth day, which is why we have a Yizkor service. It's time to reflect on things to be grateful for (like the harvest, or the upcoming giving of the Torah) and reflect on that. Here's more info on the day and its customs.

Simchat Torah, "Torah joy" is the day we celebrate the end/beginning of the annual Torah cycle and start it all back up. Find out more here!

Don't miss our celebrations on Monday, schedule below!
