Teacher Appreciation Luncheon – Call for volunteers and food contributions
The Bigelow Teacher Appreciation Luncheon will be this Wednesday, February 7th, at the Library.
It is a great way to take a moment to thank the amazing teachers and staff at Bigelow for all they do for our children. Bigelow families provide the food, beverages, plastic serving utensils and flowers for this event. Please, consider making a contribution to the luncheon, or help with set up and clean up. We still need some volunteers and donations for this appreciation event.
To donate or volunteer please sign up HERE.
- Please send in your favorite lunch food! Salads, sandwiches, entrees – whatever you think our wonderful teachers and staff will enjoy.
- It is most helpful if items are brought in recyclable containers.
- All items may be dropped off on the morning of the luncheon in the teacher’s lunchroom (in the library) or put in the refrigerator there.
- Please drop off all items no later than 10:30 AM.
- Items can also be dropped off at Magda Duchnowska’s home, 53 Brackett Road, Newton, until 10 PM on the evening of February 6th.
For more information or if you have any questions, please contact the Teacher Appreciation Chair, Magda Duchnowska at email@example.com.
Thank you again for helping us show our appreciation for our teachers and staff.
New England Camp Fair – February 11th
If you have a child attending camp this summer, you don’t want to miss this free event. The New England Camp Fair will be held on Sunday, February 11th from 11:30-2:30 in the Bigelow Middle School gymnasium, sponsored by the Underwood PTO.
In the event of inclement weather, a snow date has been set for Sunday, March 4 from 11:30-2:30. The camp fair is open to ALL local families.
Over 30 camps from Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire will be participating. Attending camps serve children ages 6-14, and represent a mix of day and overnight camps. Participating camps run the gamut from traditional style camps to sports, computer, arts and themed camps. Come to the fair with your prospective camper and meet in person with camp directors and representatives.
Visit www.newenglandcampfair.org for a complete list of camps attending.
If you have any questions, feel free contacting the Underwood PTO at firstname.lastname@example.org.
February is “Love Your Library” Month at Bigelow
Keeping the library collection new and exciting supports our goal to promote a love of reading throughout the Bigelow community. Consider donating a book in honor of a student or in recognition of a staff member through the Bound to Stay Bound Books. When a book is purchased through this website, it receives a special binding to help the book last longer, and it will include a nameplate with an honoree and donor inscription. Love the Bigelow Library by donating today. Thank your for your support!
