On April 9th, 2013 St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay recognized AmeriCorps St. Louis for their dedicated service throughout the City. The AmeriCorps St. Louis City-Wide Service Team, who serves out of the Mayor's office, has facilitated over 90 local service projects since it's start three years ago. Most recently, the team has been preparing for the 10th Annual St. Louis Serves Day, in which Slay will participate alongside AmeriCorps Members and community members alike. 

Slay joined over 600 mayors nationwide for the first National Service Recognition Day.

10th Annual St. Louis Serves Day

Please join us on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 as AmeriCorps St. Louis, in partnership with the United Way of Greater St. Louis and the Office of Mayor Francis Slay hosts the 10th annual St. Louis Serves Day. This city-wide day of service is comprised of 12 “done-in-a-day” projects at local non-profit agencies. Available opportunities include gardening, painting, meal preparation for the homeless, and more. Project partners for St. Louis Serves Day 2013 are:
  • The Bridge
  • Father Dickson Cemetery
  • FOCUS North America – St. Louis Chapter
  • Gateway Greening
  • HopeBUILD
  • International Institute
  • KidSmart
  • Kingdom House
  • Life Skills
  • Lydia’s House
  • St. Vincent Greenway
  • Volunteen Nation
Individuals and groups interested in volunteering on St. Louis Serves Day can register for a project on the United Way of Greater St. Louis website. Registration is ongoing and is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Year 20 Member Recruitment Underway

AmeriCorps St. Louis is currently accepting applications for our Emergency Response Team. Year 20 Members will begin their eleven month term of service in September 2013. Individuals interested in applying may download an application from the AmeriCorps St. Louis website, complete an online application on the national AmeriCorps website, or retrieve an application in person at our office.
