Good morning <<First Name>>,

A couple quick items this morning, please. This afternoon we are hosting both the Corporate Communion and the Installation of Officers at the 5 pm Mass.  We've also got the sign-up forms online.  If you've not had an opportunity to sign up for the Pasta Dinner or the Peach Festival Parking Lot, please follow the links below.

Corporate Communion today at 5 pm Mass

We are having our Corporate Communion this afternoon at 5 pm Mass. All members are encouraged to attend. The officers from the 4 other Councils in our District will be in attendance.  Additionally, several State officers will be in attendance.  Kenneth Unterbrink, the State Deputy, and his wife will join us.  Please dress appropriately.  Officers should wear a suit or sports coat and a tie.

“What is a Corporate Communion?”   It's just an expression we use for Knights and their families or friends, sitting and praying together in church at Mass (‘corporate’ meaning united as a group, and ‘communion’ of course meaning the celebration of the Eucharist). About once per quarter, our council attends a Mass as a corporate body to worship together. This being a District Corporate Communion means all five Councils in our District will attend.

Installation of Officers Today after 5 pm Mass

After at the 5 pm Mass (about 6:30,) St Clement will host the Installation of Officers.   There will be upwards of 125 brother Knights here.  Again, please dress appropriately, suit, tie, and jewel.  All elected officers and their wives (and families) are expected to attend.  All members are welcomed.   Dinner will be around 7 pm.

Pasta Dinner / Peachfest Parking Lot

Amazingly, it's Peach Festival time again.  We have a lot going on and need some help (as always.) We've got the sign up for the Pasta Dinner and Parking Lot below.  Please sign up to help.

BENEFITS NEWS

SEPTEMBER IS LIFE INSURANCE AWARENESS MONTH

Raising Awareness about Life Insurance

Each September since 2003 has been designated as Life Insurance Awareness Month. Like most awareness-raising campaigns, Life Insurance Awareness Month was created because there is an overwhelming lack of understanding of life insurance, its uses, its benefits, and its variations among the general public. Each year, the Life Insurance Market Research Association (LIMRA) puts out the results from a recent survey, and unfortunately, the numbers they report continue to be discouraging.

A recent survey found that more than 75 percent of people polled did not have a personal financial advisor, even though 68 percent of them said their opinion of the current economic conditions was somewhat unfavorable or very unfavorable.

In other words, a majority of those surveyed were uncomfortable with the economy and the uncertainty it brings, yet they did not seek professional assistance. Maybe they spoke with their friends and family. Maybe they hoped the instability would go away on its own. Maybe they did not know to whom to turn.

If you fall into this category, please remember that as a member of the Knights of Columbus, you have a full-time, professional agent you can call your own. My primary responsibility is the care and service of your family’s life insurance, retirement, and long-term care needs. I’ll answer your questions because I want your decisions to be informed ones. I want to help.

Another LIMRA statistic said 43 percent of people did not buy life insurance because they worry about “making the wrong decision.” Talk with me, your agent, and, afterward, you’ll understand that the only wrong decision was not purchasing sooner to protect your family’s future.

I look forward to meeting with each of you to discuss your family’s needs.

- Remo

Spend an hour listening to this beautiful music
One of the nice things about YouTube is they give you suggestions of other things to watch.  While minding my own business today, I came across this suggestion.  Is really been a wonderful addition to my normal listening.  Trust me, give it a whirl.
