Loving learning

We've started something new this year – hosting Friday afternoon (originally at lunchtime but now end of day) videos so that we can explore ideas and discuss topics related to education, technology, economics, politics and society. It's been an amazing space for us to discuss, share, learn and grow.

Here are links to some of our favourites so far. We've loved: Ken Robinson's top-rated Ted Talk on creativity in schools; Elizabeth's Gilbert's take on our elusive creative genius; Prof Alec Couros' interpretation of limitless learning; Andreas Schleicher's predictions for the needs of education in the future; and we've been so inspired by Leymah Gbowee's work to unlock the passion, intelligence and greatness of girls.

So, if you're in the Muizenberg area on a late Friday afternoon and are game for some thought-provoking talks and interesting conversations, come and pay us a visit!

We're happy to welcome two new interns: Tamica Mopp has joined us during her break from her varsity studies, and Aimee-Claire Smith has forsaken Gauteng to come and volunteer with us. Both are working hard, uploading content to fundza.mobi's growing 'library on a cellphone', and editing the work of and giving feedback to our young Fanz writers. We're also delighted to have another part-time volunteer - Katie Delaney - a former journalist who is devoting two mornings a week to keeping FunDza's t's crossed and i's dotted. We are immensely grateful for all the support.

But, we haven't only been watching movies and discussing life - we've been out and about running workshops and training sessions, delivering books and more. Check out what's happening/happened in February and March... and click on the links below to read our latest blogs. Don't forget that you can always stay up to date with FunDza if you like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

With love from all of us
