Assistants are needed to help with the HoTCO website and newsletter.  You would have occasional meetings, but mostly interacting via emails to help update the website or compile the newsletter.  As a rule, these tasks are relatively easy and would only take 2-4 hours per month.  Please give some prayerful thought to supporting these vital components of our chapter!  Contact Dan Michener (website) or Jan Reed (newsletter) for more information and to volunteer.

Guidelines for Christian Life, Growth, and Transformation
A new Lenten online course from Contemplative Outreach
Wednesday, February 26 - Saturday, April 11

In the back of Open Mind, Open Heart, the seminal book by Thomas Keating (1923 - 2018) published in 1986, he lists 42 guidelines which he described as a "tentative effort to restate the Christian spiritual journey in contemporary terms [and] provide a conceptual background for the practice of Centering Prayer." ... The intention of this course is to ponder and pray these guidelines together from a contemporary perspective for your Lenten journey. Read more

Centering Prayer Multi-Day Retreats   Our next multi-day retreat is the 10-Day Lenten retreat March 6-15 (see details below.)  In the midst of our busy lives, it is important to take time apart with God.  Like any relationship, our relationship with God is deepened and enriched by some focused, devoted time.  If you have never participated in a Centering Prayer retreat, this is the next step for enhancing your practice! Our multi-day silent retreats take place at Cedarbrake Renewal Center in Belton, TX.  The retreat center is located on 69 beautifully wooded acres with trails for walking, meditation spots, a labyrinth, and access to the Leon River.  Multi-day retreats offer many extended periods of Centering Prayer as well as time for silence and solitude and DVD viewings or conferences on a particular topic.  Please consider attending one of the many wonderful half-day, one-day and multi-day retreats that are available during the year.  Check out the new list of retreats for 2020 on our website.
