Centering Prayer Multi-Day Retreats
Our next multi-day retreat is July 26-31 (see details below.)  If you have never participated in a Centering Prayer retreat, this is the next step for enhancing your practice! Our multi-day silent retreats take place at Cedarbrake Renewal Center in Belton, TX.  The retreat center is located on 69 beautifully wooded acres with trails for walking, meditation spots, a labyrinth, and access to the Leon River.  Multi-day retreats offer many extended periods of Centering Prayer as well as time for silence and solitude and DVD viewings or conferences on a particular topic.  Please consider attending one of the five multi-day retreats that are available during the year.  Check out the list of retreats for 2019 on our website.

Centering Prayer as Purification, Illumination, Union  -  June 3 – July 11
Online Class Facilitated by Pamela Begeman, Mary Anne Best and Julie Saad
In this, the second offering of this year’s trilogy on Centering Prayer, we will focus on how the practice of Centering Prayer serves as a doorway into a process that involves a downward movement into one’s inmost being to what’s blocking the free flow of grace and a rising movement of the influence of the Divine Indwelling within, which awakens an awareness of the immense love and goodness that is at the heart of all creation. Ultimately, this results in the transformation of our entire being.  For more information and to register, please visit this link.
Contemplative Outreach of San Antonio is looking for bilingual Spanish/English presenters who are commissioned by Contemplative Outreach to teach Centering Prayer workshops.  They are hoping to organize a national bilingual Centering Prayer formation training at the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio.  If you meet this criteria and are interested, please contact Timothy Koock

Wisdom of the Desert Group If you are a young person, a teacher of young people, or young at heart, you may wish to try this new prayer group on The Meditation Chapel.  This free group is open to all, but is especially for young adults who want to explore Christian contemplative prayer and practice it in community.  It is facilitated by Corey Krupowicz, a monk-in-the-world tattoo artist living in upstate NY.  Corey has a long background in both Christian and Buddhist practice and is particularly interested in creating space for young adults to explore this path.

The group meets on Mondays, 6:00-7:30pm CDT and includes two 20-minute sitting periods with a group discussion, focusing on the wisdom of the Desert Fathers and Mothers and how we bring contemplative practices into everyday life (i.e., developing a contemplative tool box.).  To join, register with the Meditation Chapel here.

The Centering Prayer Group in Boerne, TX meets at First United Methodist Church in Jones Chapel every Wednesday evening, 5:30-6:30pm (Fall-Winter) and 6-7pm (Spring-Summer).  They have just begun a 12-week study on the meaning of Centering Prayer as Contemplation all taken from Thomas Keating's and R. Rohr's daily readings.  In Lent, they will do weekly Contemplative Eucharists up to Pentecost during their regular prayer session.  Please contact Chaplain Jenny Russell for more information.
12-Step Outreach is led by Emily Haeussler and presenters are being trained.  If you are interested, please contact Emily at
