VELOCIRAPTOR
DEBUT SELF-TITLED ALBUM OUT TODAY!

You know the score. The band with 15ish Brisbane legends that have spent the better half of their career explaining to audiences and the industry alike that they’re more like a drunken version of The Avengers and that not every member will be at every show.

They’ve done some things. Most of which they’re proud of. They’ve got an EP floating around from 2010, Mini-LP “The World Warriors” from 2012 and now their self-titled debut is about to impact the Earth in ways even more extreme than World War 3. Oh…you don’t remember World War 3? That’s because yo Raptor pals went back in time and made sure it never happened. You’re welcome.

And here they are. It’s 2014. The first single “Ramona” let you know what’s up. The current single “Sneakers” confirms indeed what is up. That Velociraptor are back. And that they’re here to stay? Yes.

Like the Nutri-Grain Iron Man screams for more Nutri-Grain so too have you screamed for more songs from your pals Velociraptor

And here it is. Our debut album.

11 tracks. Like Super Monaco Gran Prix for The Sega Mega Drive every track has its twists and turns and a bunch of CPU controlled opponents racing you to the finish. Except in this race the F1 vehicles are the tears streaming down your face.

Some of these are tears of joy. “Finally” you say. Some of these are tears of raw emotion because even though they retained some of the party - this album is a sentimental journey through heartbreak. Yes, even the song called Robocop. That robotic super cop you’ve heard so much about is just symbolism. Symbolism for how you need to become a cybernetic law enforcement officer who is hellbent on delivering justice.

So go and do just that. And maybe listen to the album whilst you’re at it. Allow it to be the soundtrack to your new life. As a soldier in the war against heartbreak, injustice and quiet nights at home.
“...strong songwriting, solid musicianship, an admirable gang camaraderie” 4 stars - The Music

“Overflowing with energy and talent…” 4 stars -  The Brag

“A nice serving of boogy-worthy guitar from Brisbane infinity-piece Velociraptor… a chain of breezy, finger-snapping hooks into a pleasant rock jaunt.” - Beat Magazine

" Velociraptor has hit the garage-rock-and-roll peak again with the rough guitar riffs and crooning vocals, undoubtedly throwing in a good handful of hollering and fast-paced hooks.”
- Casual Band Blogger

“ ...instantly catchy hooks and pop punk melodies are reminiscent of early 80′s punk powerhouses such as The Clash and The Ramones… a simple and suitably appealing release for an intimate pub gig to a muddy, unrelenting festival mosh.”  - The Ripe

"‘Raptors make you wanna grab your best girl, get drunk and dance till you can’t dance no more.” - Adam Not Eve
