AWARD hosts African Development Bank Vice President

AWARD Team with AfDB Representatives.

AWARD played host to Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, the Special Envoy on Gender and Vice President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), and other representatives from the bank on September 21, 2016. The visit by the AfDB team was aimed at exploring a potential partnership between the two institutions. Read More

This year’s African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF 2016) took place in Nairobi, Kenya from September 5-9. The main focus was on the future of Africa, through agricultural transformation. AWARD participated in the week-long event and the Director, Dr Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg, was the key speaker at one of the first panel sessions where her topic was on, “Building leaders-Looking to the future, women and youth in agriculture”. AWARD and RUFORUM host the Enhancing Negotiation Skills for Women Course


The 2016 Enhancing Negotiations Skills for Women course participants. 

AWARD partnered with RUFORUM from September 13-16 to host a course on enhancing the negotiation skills of women. AWARD’s Director, Dr. Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg, kick-started the course with a discussion on the importance of empowering and teaching African women the significance of negotiations. Read more

A Passion for Building Leadership             

Pauline Bomett is passionate about reading, organising and working with people and this is manifested in how well she interacts with the colleagues and course participants during our courses.

Bomett has been with AWARD since its onset. Now she is the Leadership and Training senior manager and oversees AWARD's engagements with the partner institutions and the fellows training process. She talks about her highlights and the changes she has observed as the AWARD program continues to grow.
