Hi Darling,

When and how do you decide to show up to see and hear the new work of your colleagues?

Sometimes I show up because the work is written, directed, and/or performed by a close friend.

But I also try as much as possible to go see work by folks I do not yet know. I want to expand my horizons, my sense of what might be possible. Of course the work will be varied -- sometimes good, sometimes meh... and every once in awhile absolutely stunning in its originality and ambition. 

The day I stop taking risks in what I see is the day I start to slowly shut down creatively. And I'm not ready to do that.

We gathered Monday February 14th at 12:30PM for the Alvin Epstein Memorial Prize for Solo Performance which was awarded to Christine Toy Johnson. Congratulations, Christine! 

If you're kicking yourself for having missed it, you're in luck. For the rest of the month of February you'll be able to watch the entire lunch hour ceremony which featured work by all six finalists. Video link expires February 29, 2022.

A Nagging Feeling Best Not Ignored
We gathered Monday February 7th at 1PM for the first reading of my Zoom solo play in response to the events of January 6th, 2021.

Bad news is, no, you cannot watch the video.

Good news is, the reason we won't let you watch the video is because I'm rewriting and preparing for an actual premiere later this year.
