Africa KiVo Project-Alive & well
I am overjoyed to announce that the Africa KiVo Project which was launched through the support of our IndieGogo Campaign in May, has resulted in the KiVo Sewing & Training Center opening in Arusha Tanzania, and 100 trees being planted in the Mulingana Primary School in Matetani THIS WEEK. Thanks to your support and the expertise of my Project Managers Cosmas Haule and David Mutinda in East Africa, we have embarked on a great adventure with the intention of reforesting, improving livelihood and strengthening skills for many in rural communities in E. Africa.
And this is just the beginning.
A foundation in the UK has awarded us a contract to sew uniforms for schools they support in Tanzania, an order for college uniforms is being placed now, the trees planted at Mulingana will provide avacados, mangoes, timber for cooking fires, and are part of a new permaculture project there.
We are discussing opening a KiVo Sewing & Training Center in Nairobi.
If you did not have a chance to donate and would like to do so, you can through my non-profit "The Singing Tree Institute." I hope to return next summer to record more circle song/dances in East Africa and incorporate them into the KiVo practice.
