11th EBAN Winter University

Winter University

Less than 3 weeks to go for the annual EBAN Winter University!

Istanbul, per si, is worth visiting but EBAN offers you much more next January 17-18. In EBAN's annual Winter University we will bring the sensitive topic of exits on stage and learn from experts and practitioners how to go through exit processes successfully. This and other topics will attract over 150 participants from across Europe to learn and increase the investment capacity of business angels and early stage VCs.

We are very proud to engage the participation of organisations such as the European Investment Fund (Matthias Ummenhofer) and the World Entrepreneurship Forum (co-President Tugrul Atamer), both playing a critical role in the European early stage sector.

Join us to network and learn in a relaxed peer based environment. Would you be interested to look for promising deals, the Winter University will also stage up to 4 start-ups proposed by EBAN members looking for a 2nd round of funding. Hot deals expected!

FiBAN: Tax-break for business angels approved in Finland
Jan D. Oker-Blom from FiBAN explains: "A private person (investor) may deduct 50% of an investment into a startup from his/her capital income. The minimum deduction is 5.000 and the maximum deduction is 75.000 euro. The tax will be paid when the shares are sold. The gain is in other words that the capital income tax of 30% will be paid later in connection with the exit, and the money can therefore be productive in a startup before taxed."
