The call for the EBAN Awards was launched and applications are already popping in. On May 13th we will get to know the winners and recognition leaders of the European early stage investment market. Categories in competition are:

- Early Stage Fund of the Year
- Business Angel Network of the Year
- Business Angel Federation of the Year
- Best Performing New EBAN Member
- Cross-Border Deal of the Year

EBAN's Annual Collection of Statistics: Your collaboration is highly appreciated
As in previous years, we invite members and non-members
of EBAN to take part in EBAN's annual collection of statistics about the European angel investment market in 2012. By taking part in the survey you provide EBAN with valuable information which will be used to define policies, identify challenges and point the way to a stronger early stage investment market at regional and European level. The survey is mainly targeted to Business Angel Networks and Federations but also welcomes contribution from other actors of the early stage sector.
We highly appreciate your cooperation and we thank you in advance for taking your time to fill in this survey by April 30th. In acknowledge of your valuable time, we will award all contributors submitting information by April 22nd with a 10% discount in one registration to the EBAN Congress 2013 (Vienna, 13-14 May)

EBAN, EVCA, Euro Chambers, UEAPME, EARTO and Taftie sign joint letter to the European Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn
Standing for a better Horizon 2020 to SMEs
Back in January, EBAN together with EVCA, Euro Chambers, UEAPME, EARTO and Taftie held a joint reception at the European Parliament to address the need to stress the importance of active and extensive participation of SMEs in the Horizon 2020. Following this initiative, the same organisations signed a joint letter
to the European Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn high-lighting the following points related to the SME Instrument and supporting the proposal made by the European Parliament:
1. A single management of the SME Instrument
2. A dedicated budget to the SME Instrument
3. Support for a bottom-up approach
