EBAN SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

The Time to "Start Scaling Up" to Create Global Succcess Stories from the EMEA.

Dear Innovation and Investment Community and Colleagues,

As we all return from holidays around the world, a plethora of invitations to conferences, workshops,
summits, etc. is greeting us, offering start-ups the possibility to pitch before investors, to learn how to pitch, etc.

We would like to urge everyone to keep their eye on the ball going forward and to remember that our combined goal has to be Creating Global Success Stories from the EMEA.

The only way we will be able to do this is to make certain that we "Start Scaling Up" those companies which have the ability to truly become global success stories.

During the last year, EBAN and its colleagues from the Innovation and Investment Community around the world have been working on a number of initiatives which we believe will help speed up the process of "Scaling Up".

These initiatives include:

1)  The E-Zone: Creating the framework for entrepreneurs and investors to have a large single market in Europe.
We are working with the e-Residency Program in Estonia, which we believe offers the next best opportunity to quickly establish the E-Zone.

2)  Expanding the EMEA Business Angel market to include ABAN (African Business Angels Network and MBAN (Middle East Business Angels Network) and to incorporate our work into the work that the GBAN (Global Business Angel Network) is doing and where EBAN is Co-Chair.

3)  e-Xcelerator: Engaging the Corporate Community to not just have "accelerators", but to go beyond that by doing transformational deals with "start-ups" which will help them "scale-up".

4)  Innovation Europe Fund and Co-Investment Funds:  Professionalizing the entire early-stage investment communty and cycle so that it can inspire citizens from around the world to invest in and grow "the next generation" of success stories.  As a result, EBAN and its colleagues are working together to create an "Innovation Europe Fund" as well as to inspire the creation of Angel-backed and managed funds, such as the Rising Tide Europe program we have initatied together with our US colleagues,  which can build co-investments with other members of the Venture Capital, Private Equity, Family Office, Pension and Banking Eco-Systems.

We look forward to working together with all of you this coming year to achieve our goals and to "Start Scaling Up" our entrepreneurial companies to become Global Success Stories from the EMEA.

With kindest regards,

Candace Johnson
