Harvest Season Fun

New Roots Community,

One of our communication commitments to our school community is that we will update you monthly about upcoming scheduled activities that relate to our students and you. You can expect to receive these at the end of each month to prepare your calendar for what's happening in the month to come. You can also stay up to date on important dates related to the school on our website School Calendar. Today we also have a special invitation to two exciting events this weekend during Ithaca's 36th Annual Apple Harvest Festival.

Fall Shopping Bazaar

Thanks to the generous organizing of New Roots parent, Amy Jackson, we're hosting a fundraiser at the school tomorrow (9/29) from 10AM-3PM. You're all invited to our Fall Shopping Bazaar where you can explore 10+ vendors that are helping our students raise money for a new sustainable water fountain. Vendors will be set up in our lobby, and you can also enjoy students serenading you in from our front porch. Vendors will include: LuLaRoe, Pampered Chef, 31, Tastefully Simple, Perfectly Posh, Essential Oils, and several handmade vendors... Thanks for your support!

First People's Festival

Please also visit our lower school Global Studies and English students across the street in Dewitt Park at the First People's Festival. Their place-based learning projects will be on display demonstrating a historically accurate representation of the history of the Haudenosaunee. The First Peoples’ Festival, organized by the Multicultural Resource Center, honors the history and culture of first peoples of this land and all of their ancestors. It also recognizes that we all have a common bond as human beings alive today. Organizers plan to bring together various indigenous vendors, foods, performances, cultural demonstrations, family-friendly activities, and community resource booths, which will provide our community with an opportunity to experience an amazing cultural and educational event free and accessible to all.
