The month of June is international CMV awareness month. This year we are teaming up with our international friends and running a virtual 5k fundraising event on the 27th June.
We can’t all get together physically, but we can still make a difference apart.
How does it work?
The idea is you commit to running/walking/cycling 5k on this day and gain sponsorship from friends and family to complete the task, which is then donated to CMV Action to support families. If you just want to raise awareness rather than funds, that’s fine too.
The distance can be completed in however long it takes you on the day, using whichever activity you wish and wherever you wish! Once you have finished, you can post your results on facebook or twitter.
You’ll need to set up a fundraising page at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving/
or a Facebook Fundraiser on https://www.facebook.com/fund/CMVAction/
Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
to register and let us know how you get on. We will post to promote your fundraising. Children welcome! Registration is now open.
All funds raised will be donated to CMV Action UK in support of our mission to educate and raise awareness of congenital CMV.
We’ll be posting on our Facebook page throughout the month of June leading up to the date, to encourage and support you and to raise awareness of CMV. So please send us either a photo of yourself and a couple of sentences, or a 20 second video clip (20 seconds max) of why you are doing this and what you have decided to do and we can feature you on our Facebook page! You can start sending these in now to email@example.com
Raise awareness on twitter
We look forward to hearing from you soon. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for information during the month about other activities including a support group on Facebook for families.
This has been a difficult few months for us with limited fundraising opportunities. We are still offering our usual support services and raising awareness and this all costs money.
Please join us and help us raise vital funds and awareness.
