Dear friends,
Welcome to July and the clear blue skies, I arrived in South Africa, newly wed in the middle of winter 39 years ago. I was ill equipped for the cold and could hardly speak English and did not know anybody.
I immediately fell in love with the winter clear blue skies, the glorious sunsets, the warmth of the people who welcomed me into their homes and hearts. I had come home! Over the years I explored this magnificent country and there is still so much to discover, it will take a life time to enjoy all the splendours of this majestic part of the world. Africa is in my blood and despite all our problems it is a place I am happy to call home.
I could never have imagined what has happened to this beautiful country, nor how my life would turn out, I was just following my heart, not knowing where, not knowing why, simply because it felt right and I trusted that there is a bigger picture and the how would become evident.
If someone had told me that I would be doing the work I am doing today I would have laughed, it was such a foreign concept at the time. What my life has taught is that when we surrender to the prompting of our soul and trust life, we find the courage to step on the path that opens up in front of us and the gifts and talents we came to add to the tapestry of life reveals itself.
Following my heart has not always met with the approval of the people around me but I could not have lived with myself if I did not; I had faith that those who truly cared would come around even though they did not understand, after all faith can move mountains and it did.
"When you focus on problems, you will have more problems,
when you focus on possibilities you will have more opportunities."
I have had an urgent request to do another Level I and II workshop, I can only fit in during the week. it's happening on the12-13 July if you would like to join, see upcoming event on the left.
Letting go Worry
Just for today I will not worry is the second Reiki principle.
Worrying is a habit that we often inherit from our parents, for many it has the mistaken connotation of being a caring person. i.e. a caring parent worries about his child... and this misconception has been handed down for generations.
Worry is praying for what you don't want!
Your thoughts and feelings are energy and what you focus on you energize and create your reality. Worry is never related to positive outcomes, it is based on fear of the future of the unknown and the imaginings of dramas and catastrophes and all sorts of negative outcomes. With excessive worrying your mind goes in overdrive as you constantly focus on what might happen.
Worrying affects your health.
Worry can make you feel uneasy, sad, depressed, anxious, or frightened and these affect your physiology, so you might experience a faster heartbeat, sweaty palms, or a tension headache, indigestion and constant worrying stresses the body and can lower your immune system, making you more vulnerable to illness.
"I am so stressed" has become a common statement in our world, this soul destroying state of being stems from a lack of understanding of who we are and what we are capable of as well as from failing to honor our values and respect our boundaries. Sadly instead of addressing the cause of the problem, the majority of people resort to medication or give in to addictions in order to cope with life.
Worrying robs us of our peace of mind, stops us from being present to the wonder of life and the excitement of building our dreams. It's a waste of time 90% of the things we worry about never happens! It is the most energy sapping, dispiriting habit we can entertain.
"I'd rather be optimistic and wrong than pessimistic and right." - Elon Musk
Wouldn't you rather imagine the life you want, plan for what you want and go out there making it happen; instead of spending hours agonizing about what if situations and being paralyzed by anxiety?
You can change your programing! Your beliefs and assumptions create your reality, your perception of the world you live in. When you catch yourself worrying, listen carefully to your inner dialogue, does it reflect your parents, teachers, the media's opinions, concepts and beliefs? Does this interpretation of life serve you, does it make you happy? You don’t have to keep thinking the same way, you have freewill you are an intelligent being you have your unique perspective on life and you deserve to be happy and at peace.
Are you willing and ready to reclaim responsibility for your life?
- Understand that you are not a victim of life but the creator of your reality, no matter what the outer circumstances you are responsible for your feelings and emotions and capable of choosing your beliefs thoughts, and change your perspective.
- Acknowledge your addiction to drama and examine what beliefs about yourself and life this addiction reinforces? Replace them with empowering ones.
- Ask yourself: is what I am concerned about a real or imagined issue? If it is real: What can I do about it? If there is something you can do attend to this, if it is not in your power, let it go. You are not the manager of the universe, trust that everything is working perfectly, understand that you do not have the whole picture.
- Use your imagination to create that which you want instead of what you dread.
- Write down your desires and goals as positive affirmations, place the peace on paper between you hands and energize it with Reiki or love for the highest good of all.
- Meditate, ask for guidance, surrender to higher power.
- Have faith that there is a greater intelligence that will show up when you need it.
If you need support, hurry up book your seat on the upcoming Developing the Genius of Imagination workshop, the early bird discounted fee expires tomorrow 4th July.
May love light your way always
Christine
