Our new favorite summer yarn has been out for a month now, and we're still constantly amazed by its beauty and versatility. In fact, we love Shibui Linen so much, we're starting a spring knitalong to celebrate this fantastic flaxen yarn. This week, all of us at Knit Purl picked our favorite projects to knit with Linen and cast on for these summer must-haves. We'd love to have you aboard the knitalong--dive into our staff picks for some ideas for Linen knittables!

Erika's pick shows off Linen's crisp, buoyant nature in a wide-necked sleeveless sweater. The Striped Breathless Sweater is devastatingly chic with leggings or skinny jeans. Go urban sophisticate with rich neutrals like Camel and Abyss, or play up the nautical charm with Ivory and Suit.

For a summery spin on the Shibui Mix concept, Oleya chose the No. 2 pullover pattern with Shibui Linen and Silk Cloud held together. A light neutral like Ash goes with practically everything, but for summer, we love adding pop to our wardrobe with vivid brights--Poppy and Watermelon, perhaps?

Playing up the contrast between Linen's brights and neutrals, Alexa chose Veera Välimäki's Different Lines in electric Apple and moody Tar. The chartreuse/charcoal juxtaposition makes a bold statement, but crafting your own complementary color scheme is half the fun--pick your personal favorites!

Keli's innovative take on Shibui's Gradient cowl uses Linen to create a greyscale transition from Abyss to Ivory. Hold two strands together, gradually switching one strand to the next color for a slow and subtle gradation. The perfect blend of practicality and personality, Gradient keeps the sun off your neck and adds a hint of modern style.

A swingy tunic with a parabolic hemline is just the thing to layer over a summery tank or tee. Sandy knit her Liesl with Linen in Suit, but this carefree tank also works beautifully with earthy shades like Field or Brick. Knit it with one strand for an open, meshy fabric, or hold two strands together for a denser, drapier look.
