Top 3 Things You Should Know When Researching in HeinOnline's U.S. Congressional Documents

When: Wednesday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. EST

To kick off our 2013 Webinar series, we are going to share the top three things that you should know when you are researching in HeinOnline's U.S. Congressional Documents library. Those are:

  1. Using the Daily to Bound Locator Tool to quickly pull up a page from the Daily edition in the Bound edition and vice versa.
  2. Using the Congressional Hearings Quick Finder to locate a hearing from Covington & Burling's prestigious collection.
  3. Searching for a bill in the History of Bills and Resolutions in the Daily and Bound Volumes.

New Webinar Platform:

In kicking off our 2013 series, we are going to be using a new webinar platform called MeetingBurner.  We have tested this platform internally, but to help troubleshoot any problems prior to the first official webinar, we are hosting three Test Your Connection sessions.  The details for each of these are outlined below.  We encourage you to register for a Test Your Connection session, during which you will simply attend the Webinar to ensure you are able to connect successfully.  There will be no agenda for these sessions; however, we will be available for fifteen minutes throughout the session to answer questions about the new platform.

Also, to ensure you are able to participate using this new platform, please review the following system requirements recommended by MeetingBurner:
  • Suggested web browsers include Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3+, Safari 3+, Opera 9, AOL 9.
  • The MeetingBurnerâ„¢ system may use additional software that works with your browser to display special content, including audio and video files. To optimize your experience with MeetingBurner, it is recommended that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader.
  • If you have any firewall or security systems (like Norton, McAfee, etc.), they can sometimes interfere with normal back office activity.  Make sure to put MeetingBurner in any "safe lists" that your product maintains.
  • The "Content Advisor" feature on Internet Explorer can also interfere with normal web browsing.  Note:  this feature is NOT automatically turned on for IE, so if you have never used it, you should be fine.
To register for a "Test Your Connection" session, simply select the date and time below that works best for you.  Then, follow the registration instructions presented to you via MeetingBurner.  You will receive an email confirmation with instructions as to what to do at the time of the session.
