September Content Release

Below is a snapshot of the September Content Release:

  • 30 Libraries updated
  • 12 new titles added and 166 titles updated in the Law Journal Library
  • 22 titles updated in the Bar Journals Library
  • 64 new titles added to the Legal Classics Library - now more than 2,200 titles available!
  • 13 states updated in the Session Laws Library, plus 5 additional states taken back to inception - all states now have full coverage available!
  • 25 new titles added to Taxation & Economic Reform in America, Parts I & II
  • 84 new titles added to World Constitutions Illustrated
  • 32 new titles added to World Trials
  • 10 new titles added to the History of International Law Collection
  • 14 new titles added to the Intellectual Property Law Collection

Session Laws Library - All States Now Available Back to Inception!

Now Also Including Colonial or Territory Laws
We are pleased to announce we now have complete coverage for all states in our Session Laws Library! This month, we have taken South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin back to inception! With the addition of the back files for these five states, we now have the complete session laws for all 50 U.S. states and the Canadian and Australian Acts of the Parliament.

With this release, we have also added the colonial session laws for the following territories before they were states:
  • Territory of Colorado (1861-1876)
  • Territory of Massachusetts (1661-1788)
  • Territory of Michigan (1806-1836)
  • Territory of New Jersey (1703-1786)
  • Territory of New York (1691-1775)
  • Territory of Pennsylvania (1700-1787)
  • Territory of Virginia (1661-1777)

Pentagon Papers
Now Available in HeinOnline

Free to Core Subscribers!
In June, the National Archives released the complete Pentagon Papers to the public and we have now added them to HeinOnline! The Pentagon Papers are a series of reports about the United States' political-military involvement in Vietnam from 1945 to 1967. These reports will be available free to HeinOnline Core subscribers, and are fully searchable. You can find the Pentagon Papers from you subscribed libraries page.

61st Competition Now Available!

The winning records, briefs and related organizational materials of the 61st annual National Moot Court Competition are now available, along with the complete archive of competitions from 1950-2010!

This competition draws together in one place the records and briefs as well as related organizational materials which comprise the National Moot Court Competition. The Young Lawyers Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the American College of Trial Lawyers sponsor the national competition each year to enable law students throughout the United States to match their abilities as appellate advocates against one another and to bring together law students, practicing lawyers, legal scholars, and judges to exchange ideas, attitudes and to compare notes.

Reorganization of US Congressional Documents Collection
This month, we reorganized HeinOnline's US Congressional Documents Collection. We have reformatted this collection to have more prominent browse options at the top of the collection homepage, which allows easy navigation throughout the collection. The browse options are All Titles, Rules & Precedents, Debates of Congress, Other Works Related to Congress, and CBO. These browse options also allow you to search these sections separately.

Notable Titles Added to the Law Journal Library

Contemporary Readings in Law and Social Justice, Vols. 1-2 (2009-2010). This journal promotes critical discussions on problems of social justice, including exploring the meanings of justice that arise in a diverse society, and draws on cross disciplinary research and scholarship to address social justice issues of immediate and wide ranging concern. Contemporary Readings in Law and Social Justice covers a range of topics relating to legal issues surrounding the impact of globalization on social development, providing legal scholars, practitioners, and policy makers with a forum to address and provide solutions to contemporary social issues that are currently under legislative or judicial consideration.

Jurisprudence, Vol. 1 (2010). Jurisprudence provides a forum for scholarly writing on the philosophy of law. While demanding the utmost intellectual honesty, clarity and scholarly rigour, its editorial policy is distinctively open-minded in relation to philosophical approach. A main purpose of the journal is to encourage scholarship which explores and transcends the categories and assumptions on which contemporary jurisprudential debates are conducted, and to stimulate reflection upon traditional questions concerning the nature of law, politics and society.
