Ciaooo <<First Name>>,

What a wonderful, beautiful, joyous week it has been.

The 21-Day Italian Conversation Challenge wrapped up & I've heard all kinds of stories about students who feel more confident speaking and who finally had the courage to have a conversation with a native speaker. I am absolutely floored by their results.

If you want to partake in the next challenge that opens late March, you can sign up to get on the early list by clicking here.

Today I'm switching things up a bit and am going to give two short exercises -- one for beginners & the other for intermediate students.

You'll find all of the answers at the very bottom of this email.

BEGINNER/UPPER BEGINNER EXERCISE:

Directions: Fill in the blanks below with the correct pronouns. Note: I stole this from my 10-Day Italian Pronouns Challenge, which is currently under construction.

1.) Non ____ parlo. – I am not talking to him.

2.) ____ ho offerto un caffé. – I offered her a cup of coffee. (Think: I offered a cup of coffee TO her.)

3.) Voglio telefonar____ domani. – I want to call her tomorrow.

4.) Cos’hai detto quando ____ hai scritto? – What did you say when you wrote to him?

INTERMEDIATE/UPPER INTERMEDIATE EXERCISE:

Directions: Translate the sentences below from English to Italian. Hint: This exercise is for practicing the past conditional tense (aka the "could have", "would have", "should have" tense).

1.) You should not have eaten that cannoli.
2.) I wanted to tell you the truth, but I was scared. (informal)
3.) I would have liked to visit Naples.
4.) I told you that I would arrive at 10 instead of 9. You don't remember? (informal)
