Colin McLean, Head of the Heritage Lottery Fund in Scotland, said: “HLF is delighted to support this transformational project which will give the north-east of Scotland a world-class cultural centre worthy of the exceptional art works it will house . . . This historic building will bring the past up-to-date with dynamic displays and contemporary interpretation. It will not only attract more tourists to the area but will benefit the wider community as they explore and enjoy their rich heritage in a gallery of which they can be proud.”
£10million to redevelop Aberdeen Art Gallery. The £30million project will transform the Gallery, adding a new floor and presenting its outstanding collections of Fine and Decorative Art to wider audiences. As well as the interpretive exhibition design, we are working on the digital strategy for the Gallery based on the theme: Inspiring Art and Music.
We are looking forward to working on this exciting project over the next three years. The Gallery will close in Spring 2015 and is due to re-open in Autumn 2017.
