AREA Meets the World

Our working group AREA meets the World is getting ready for another season of great activities. The first event is:
Focus on Africa_Episode I
- How can we involve the community in a decision-making process?
- How to collaborate with the community with the purpose of designing public spaces?
- How can art contribute to creating a stronger social fabric?
- Can cultural operators and artists become interpreters and promoters of a community?
We will reflect on the role of arts and culture in recognising a community’s identity / identities.
We will question the concept of empowerment and reflect on the dynamics of power related to gender roles and discrimination
We invite you to join us for an informal conversation to explore different stories, contexts and trajectories in the African continent.
