Oct 2019 - VA, Fusion Sale, FIMO, Good Vibes, Sophia, Tricks & Treats

Hello-ween!

Hope you are enjoying the typical fall weather of extremes - 60 to snow. The Veterans in Focus group wrapped up our outings. Please join us for the meet and great artist reception on Veterans Day at Carroll University. There were 11 participants and we have nearly 40 photos of these locations and more: the Rockwell Clock Tower, Brady Street, took sunrise photos on the Lakefront, Lake Park, Tripoli Shrine, Pabst Mansion, the Warehouse Gallery and Harley Davidson. See invitation. I was thrilled to sell a large Lighthouse and Hoan Bridge Fusion Foto Art print at RE/MAX Gallery. I have several holiday gift sale events and another live painting job coming up – stay tuned.

Mom and I hosted a FIMO clay mini dish making class at her apartment. I really enjoy the feeling of getting my hands in the clay and learning about the medium. It’s very satisfiying. Up to now, I’ve only done jewelry. The group of a dozen got their creative vibes going and make some really nice pieces. Speaking of Vibes, I bought a new art mobile! Zippy the Vibe was having some issues, so I traded it in for a newer model. I call her Good Vibes! I had to wait weeks and weeks until it was not too hot, or too windy, or rainy to add the text and butterfly stickers. I think she’s pretty groovy.

Our darling Sophia turned 4 years old this week! Oh my goodness she is getting so big. She is into unicorns and Barbie’s now. The folks got her the Barbie Dream House and she also scored Vet, Entomologist and Nurse dolls. We got her a Barbie on a pink scooter (so non PC). Also a pink remote control Corvette. Oh the squeals of delight. Adam and Denae hosted her party at Kids in Motion in New Berlin. They asked us to wear socks, so I was expecting some kind of bouncy house but it is truly a wonderful place for kids to learn and play. It had private party areas and plenty of theme rooms to be creative in - like art and theater, markets, trains, construction, and archeology.

It’s been a month full of tricks and treats! We went to the Dells to see Rick and Suzanne Wilcox’s big theater magic show – and to celebrate our 16th anniversary. Also saw David Seebach’s Illusions in the Night show, and Tom did his annual Pumpkin Pavilion gigs. We had a riot with Rudy at his Fright Fest Halloween Party. We dressed as Colonel Sanders and his Chick. Even stopped at KFC for a bucket of extra crispy on the way. The employees were amused. Someone said, ”The boss is here”. Tom gave everyone a raise. This weekend is the Houdini Club Convention near Madison. Tom will be the Friday evening opening entertainment for the stage show and will do 5 mini close up shows on Saturday afternoon. 3 days and 150 magicians. Look out. If you don’t hear from me next month I’d suggest you start looking there.

Scary dreams,
Anita
