Our 18th  annual tag/bake sale is on Sat., Sept. 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  It will be on the front lawn unless it rains, in which case it will be inside. Pray for a nice day!

You may rent a table for $25 or a space (bring your own table) for $20.  It is on a first-come, first-served basis so please reserve early. Your payment holds your space.  If you don't have enough items to rent a table yourself,  you may donate items the week prior to the sale for the church tables.

If you love to bake, we’d love to have your goodies for our bake table.  A light lunch will be available.

For information and sign-up, call Sue Stauffacher at 860-354-1274 before 7:00 p.m.

Rev. Peters' Sabbatical time

During August, David will take one of his four months of sabbatical leave. During this time, he will be free to read, relax, plan, ponder and recharge for the good of the church and his ministry.
On August, 28, the day after the Beef Barbecue, David Peters will return to lead worship.
He will continue his sabbatical time through Wednesday, returning to normal duties on Thursday, September 1.

For Pastoral Emergencies: The Rev. Robyn Gray, Pastor at the First Congregational Church of Washington is providing pastoral coverage for David. For pastoral emergencies only (hospitalizations, crises, etc.) email
pastor.robyn@firstchurchwashingtonct.org.

From David: I ask that you help me to take time off by not calling on me during these days. As you know, I tend to slip back into doing things because I love this church and its people. I will be present and pastoring though, for any church member deaths, such as the upcoming one for Diane Meade.

Please help to make our visiting preachers feel welcome!
(And don't forget to come to church worship during July and August- 9:30 a.m.!)
Cash 4 Causes Card Program

The popular program is back with a new coordinator
Susan Zappulla-Peters (860-355-8830 - zappullapeters@mac.com)
and an emphasis on the local grocery stores.

It is hoped that you would consider getting in the habit, like some,
to purchase your cards on a monthly basis.

NEW: The second Sunday of each Month will be Card Ordering Sunday.
The next time will be Sunday, September 11

We would like to have a set day so it is easy to remember to order
and easy the processing...

The concept is simple.
- You buy the card at the face value (ex. $100) and we purchase a cash card from the store.
- They charge approx. 5% less and the church keeps the difference.
- You spend the same amount, but by using the card, your Church gets a 5% benefit!!

We work primarily with Stop & Shop, Big Y, and Shop Rite cards

Contact Susan directly or speak with her on Sundays after worship.
She may have a few extra cards for the different stores with her.
