Call out for HDR student panellists with disabilities


SUPRA is seeking HDR speakers to be part of a panel discussion on the topic: Disclosing your disability to your supervisors, and your academic rights. The panel will be held in September 2021.

We are seeking a diverse representation of speakers to include people with physical impairments, people who belong to a sensory minority, people with emotional disabilities, people with cognitive challenges, and those with chronic/severe illness. 

If you are interested in being part of this important discussion please email the SUPRA Disabilities Officer Gemma Smart by 27 August 2021 at disability@supra.usyd.edu.au.

New study group app: vSydney Study Connect

 
The Uni has launched a new app to help students form supported study groups. vSydney Study Connect connects you with other students in your faculty as well as Peer Support Advisors, who act as group leaders.

The app facilitates events, chat, and allows students to study together online.

Did you know that the word ‘essay’ is attributed to French aristocrat Michel de Montaigne who used the word in his books Essais published in 1580? Montaigne used the term from the French ‘essayer’ meaning ‘to attempt’. Montaigne is widely considered to be the father of the modern essay.

Are you experiencing financial hardship?
The University is offering general bursaries to all students to help cover living and study expenses. International students can also apply for an International Student Financial Assistance Voucher. And all students can apply for a $1000 interest-free loan.
