Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Day on Friday.  It was lovely to welcome you all to Westhope.  Many thanks also to our wonderful students, tutors and volunteers who made a special day happen.

The exhibits of our City & Guilds' Basketry and Printmaking students' work were absolutely wonderful, the sun shone for us and the wildflower meadow was just beautiful and appreciated by everyone.

We all had a fabulous day and hope that you enjoyed your visit.

Pop-Up Shop raises £418.95

Thank you also to everyone who supported our craft sale at the Open Day in aid of our newly launched bursary fund.  You helped us to raise an astonishing £418.95!  We have decided to retain this as a Pop-Up Shop for a few weeks until the classroom is needed for workshops.  It will be open from Monday to Friday (11am to 3pm) until further notice, with a wide range of donated craft items for sale.  Do come and browse and support our bursary fund if you can.

Silversmithing course

We were excited to launch this new course yesterday.  Five days (over ten weeks) at Westhope to learn and practise a range of traditional and contemporary silversmithing techniques: puzzle inlay; press forming; soldering tips and practice; scoring and mitreing.  The course is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience of silversmithing who wish to develop their skills.  Full course information here
We have just a few places now available on the Level 2 Printmaking and Level 3 Basketry courses that start in October.  Contact eileen@westhope.org.uk to receive a course information pack.  Level 2 Basketry courses are now all full but do email Eileen if you would like to be added to the reserve list.
We have featured below those workshops running during the next few weeks where there are still places available. Alternatively, if your creative interests lie elsewhere, click here to browse our full course programme.  Book by 4pm tomorrow (Friday) to take advantage of our Summer Special offer (details below).
