Coastal Hazard Adaptation Program

Following QCoast2100's official launch on 2 June 2016, the LGAQ is happy to announce that 17 coastal councils have been awarded grant funding following submission of successful project applications. The grant funding process is on-going and the LGAQ continues to engage with all eligible councils to provide information about the Program, assist with the submission of funding applications and support funding approved projects.

Coastal erosion - Karumba

Funding Status

Douglas Shire and Hinchinbrook Shire councils have been successful in their applications for the QCoast2100 funding. Douglas has become the first council to complete Phases 1 & 2 of CHAS under QCoast2100, and is currently in the process of undertaking Phases 3 to 8.

Funding application guidelines

Funding Application Guidelines

Project eligibility criteria have been developed to ensure the development of high quality information enabling defensible, timely and effective local adaptation decision-making. Councils applying for QCoast2100 funding will have to address these criteria in their project proposals.

Knowledge & Information Sharing Forum

QCoast2100 Forum 2017

QCoast2100's 2nd Knowledge & Information Sharing Forum was held succesfully in Cairns on 18 May 2017. The forum featured a half day stakeholder communication and engagement workshop, and presentations from selected councils on their CHAS journeys.

Queensland Coastal Conference

The 6th Queensland Coastal Conference will be held at Lure Abell Point Marina, Airlie Beach from 5 - 7 September 2017. Organised by the Australian Coastal Society and Reef Catchments, this year's theme is 'Queensland Coastal Conference - 10 Years In The Making'. Registrations are now open.
