Coastal Hazard Adaptation Program

Following QCoast2100's official launch in June 2016, the LGAQ is happy to announce that 25 coastal councils have been awarded grant funding following submission of successful project applications. The grant funding process is on-going and the LGAQ continues to engage with all eligible councils to provide information about the Program, assist with the submission of funding applications and support funding approved projects.

QCoast2100 Forum 4

QCoast2100's Knowledge & Information Sharing Forum will be held on Thursday, 24 of May 2018 in Brisbane. The forum will feature presentations from experts and selected local government representatives with a focus on Phases 5 & 6 of a CHAS.

The sixth national Climate Adaptation Conference will be held in Melbourne from 8 to 10 May 2018. The LGAQ and DES will be doing a joint presentation on QCoast2100 at this conference.

Burdekin Bridge

QCoast2100 Funding Status

Two new councils, Burdekin SC and Logan CC, have been successful in their applications for the QCoast2100 funding to undertake their CHAS. Bundaberg RC has also been approved further funding for Phases 3 to 8.

Douglas Shire Council has created a website for the purpose of engaging with their communities and key stakeholders on the Resilient Coast program which encompasses council's CHAS.
