Coastal Hazard Adaptation Program

Following QCoast2100's official launch on 2 June 2016, the LGAQ is happy to announce that 27 coastal councils have been awarded grant funding following submission of successful project applications. The grant funding process is starting to wind-up with all project applications due by 31 October 2018 in preparation for the program completion date of 31 October 2019 . The LGAQ will continue to engage with eligible councils to assist with the submission of funding applications and support funding approved projects.

QCoast2100's 4th Knowledge & Information Sharing Forum was held successfully in Brisbane on the 24th of May 2018. The forum featured presentations from experts and selected local government representatives with a focus on Phases 5 & 6 of a CHAS.

QCoast2100 Funding Status

Two new councils, Burke SC and Carpentaria SC, have been successful in their applications to undertake Phases 1 and 2 of their CHAS. Cairns, Cook, Gympie and Livingstone Councils have also been approved further funding to complete Phases 3 to 8.
