Coastal Hazard Adaptation Program

Following QCoast2100's official launch on 2 June 2016, the LGAQ is happy to announce that 23 coastal councils have been awarded grant funding following submission of successful project applications. The grant funding process is on-going and the LGAQ continues to engage with all eligible councils to provide information about the Program, assist with the submission of funding applications and support funding approved projects.

QCoast2100 Funding Status

Pormpuraaw Aboriginal Shire, Fraser Coast Regional, Northern Peninsula Area Regional, City of Gold Coast, Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire and Torres Strait Island Regional councils have been successful in their applications for QCoast2100 funding to undertake Phases 1 & 2 of their CHAS.

Project Status Update

The QCoast2100 website now features a 'Project Progress' page which provides information on the Phases of CHAS that have been approved for funding for all councils, and where councils are at with their CHAS projects.

Forum 3

QCoast2100 Forum 3

QCoast2100's 3rd Knowledge & Information Sharing Forum was held successfully in Townsville on 9 November 2017. The forum provided participants with the opportunity to hear from experts and selected councils discussing Phases 3 & 4 of a CHAS and explore lessons learnt.

Sunshine Coast's CHAS

Sunshine Coast Council is currently undertaking  Phases 1 and 2 of their CHAS and will complete a series of studies over the next 2 years which will result in the development of an adaptation strategy for the LGA.
