Coastal Hazard Adaptation Program

Following QCoast2100's official launch on 2 June 2016, the LGAQ is happy to announce that 16 coastal councils have been awarded grant funding following submission of successful project applications. The grant funding process is on-going and LGAQ continues to engage with all eligible councils to encourage and assist with the submission of funding applications.

Coastal erosion - Karumba

Funding Status

The $12 million QCoast2100 fund will assist another five local governments to help coastal communities prepare for the impacts of coastal hazards. Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Bundaberg, Isaac and Cook Shire councils have all been successful in their applications for funding.

Eligible Projects

QCoast2100 acknowledges that each local government’s circumstances and context is unique. However, there are a number of core steps required in developing a CHAS to ensure local governments have the appropriate level of information to allow practical decision-making and implementation to occur.

Knowledge & Information Sharing Forum

Knowledge & Information Sharing Forum 2017

The next forum will be held on 18 May 2017 in Cairns. The forum will feature a half day stakeholder communications and engagement workshop and showcase selected councils that have been awarded the QCoast2100 grant funding.
