Here is the latest on our family and the ongoing crisis in Haiti:

We wish we had better news, but things in Haiti continue to be volatile. There continue to be protests, roadblocks, etc. on a daily basis. We need to continue praying for Haiti!

All attempts to remove the president have proven to be fruitless at this point. Whether that is a good or bad thing, well, that all depends on who you ask. Interestingly, we saw a poll (unofficial) on an Opposition Party member's Twitter account yesterday.  He asked the people who they would trust to lead the transitional government if the president does indeed step down.
  • "The President should stay in office" received 23% of the vote.
  • "An Opposition Party Member" received only 8% of the vote.
  • The tweet has since been taken down.
At the time, the majority said they would like to see a new character on the scene. We found it very interesting that many people, even if they agree with the opposition that the President should step down, do not trust any members in the Opposition Party to take the responsibility of leading the country. It speaks of the chaos that lingers.
Day of Prayer for Haiti - This Thursday!

If you follow us on social media, you may have seen this video last week that we shared from Pastor Ralf Etienne calling for a Day of Prayer for Haiti this Thursday (October 17th).  We agree to pray with him and all of our brothers and sisters in haiti.  Will you join us too?  Please do!
Thursday - October 17th
October 17th is a national holiday in Haiti, the Day of Dessalines. Jean-Jaques Dessalines was the leader of the revolution when the slaves on the island won their freedom, defeating the French army.  As you can imagine, this is a holiday that is politically charged, to say the least.  To this day, you will hear people refer to themselves as "Pitit Dessalines" (children of Dessalines) in Haiti.
Also, Susan has an appointment on Monday to receive the permanent crown on her broken tooth. We will be so grateful to have the tooth completely fixed. God's timing is spot on!
Lifeline Open House - You're Invited!
This Wednesday and Thursday
This is a really great opportunity to not only see Lifeline's main offices in Westerville, Ohio, but also learn more about the ministry as a whole.  There will be opportunities to:
  • Learn more about fighting hunger, even pack some meals to send overseas
  • Learn more about mission trip possibilities
  • Learn how you can volunteer with Lifeline to make a global impact
  • Purchase some Lifeline gear
  • Activities for the kids
  • Enjoy some food and conversation
Susan and I will be there. We would love to see you!

Thank you so much for your ongoing love and support!  Please keep praying with us.

Grace and Peace,
Brad, Susan, Riley, & Ally
