Moment with Pastor Luke

What an awesome month we have been having so far! From our Christmas Carol Sing-Along to tomorrow’s Children’s Christmas play, and our devotionals through Luke God is really at work in our church! It is exciting to see and hear the transformative stories taking place.

In fact, just this past week another young person reached out and told me they would like to get baptized! We currently have several in studies already for baptism and the list just keeps growing! God is on the move in our church!

This upcoming year is shaping up to be one of transformation. There are many opportunities for us to serve our community and exhibit the love of Jesus helping the City of Alpharetta and Forsyth County know the love of God and be transformed by it. That is why we are having a business meeting Sunday December 12th @ 6pm. In order for us to accomplish our mission effectively we need to be on the same page with our resources. A business meeting is for all baptized members of our church to come together and vote upon an issue or issues outlined in the agenda for that meeting. Our agenda has one item which is our budget for the upcoming year. I ask that if you are a baptized member of our church, that you would make an effort to attend so we can all be on the same page with how we allocate our resources to accomplish our mission! Your voice matters, and the business meeting gives every member an opportunity to vote.

I know God has big things for our church this upcoming year and I look forward to seeing them happen!

Fix Your Eyes on Jesus Challenge

Starting December 1st we will be doing a devotional reading through the Gospel of Luke. By spending 1 hour a day reading 1 chapter we believe Jesus is going to do something transformative in our hearts! The rules are as follows;

  1. Cut our all news and media for the duration of the challenge. Tell your friends, announce to your social media groups, whatever you need to do so you can have this time to just focus on Jesus.

  2. Spend 1 hour (This will be difficult at first but keep going) reading 1 chapter a day. Here is my Devotional Journaling method that I got from Pastor David Hartman.

  1. During this challenge we want you to read a Bible in print. So put the digital Bibles away and spend time in one that is attractively designed and one you can highlight in (if you like to).

Lastly, if you want to follow along with the ways Jesus will be speaking to me, you can subscribe to our Church Youtube channel where I will be posting a video every day, sharing what Jesus taught me during my 1 hour. I look forward to the transformation!

Church News and Announcements

God has a plan for everyone and everything. That includes you, and it includes the Alpharetta Seventh-day Adventist Church. We believe that stories are being shaped through our church. That is why we set out to raise $185,000 to build a pavilion where our friends, family, and neighbors can come to hear the Gospel and learn to embrace God’s better story for their lives. To date we have raised over $100,000!

This pavilion will serve as a critical part of our overall campus, allowing our youth to have outside summer gatherings, our vespers to be sheltered from the sun and rain, and so much more. You can see what the pavilion will look like by going to

We can’t pull this off without your support. Whether you give to our church on a regular basis, or just attend on occasion, we’re asking you to prayerfully consider contributing to this undertaking. It’s something we need our entire church community’s help with. Even if you can’t make a large gift, know that every little bit helps. It’s more about coming together as a community, united behind the common cause of sharing the story of Jesus. We hope that you’ll consider making a donation towards this great step forward in proclaiming the gospel.

You can give online at our website through AdventistGiving, or mark it on your tithe envelopes.

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. – Psalm 27:5
